Weston, Bath
We did a part-renovation for this big garden in Bath. The garden had a slight slope and incredibly over grown back border filled with weeds. We levelled out the lawn area before laying new turf. Our client requested raised vegetable beds and compost bins which we fitted with a trellis to support tall growing flowers and creeping plants and also offered a screen to the bins and shed behind.
The most exciting element was building the pond. We used many materials found on site as there were many large rocks and boulders amongst the bed. The area we had to work with was large, enabling us to incorporate a beach and lots of planting that will grow to fill the space. Overall the garden has transformed into an abundant, resourceful and functional garden which will hopefully bring a lot of joy and respite to the family.

Eastville, Bristol
A full renovation of this urban garden situated just outside the CBD of Bristol. There was a huge amount of groundwork to this project which required us to strip back and level out the existing levels. We then built a new patio using beautiful dark grey sandstone with a grey grouting to meet the aesthetic the client had requested.
We lay a new lawn, perfect for their lovely little dog to run around on. And we designed two new flower beds, edged with Everedge, a product we love to use to create distinct, clear, easy to maintain borders. We filled the beds with as many plants as the budget would allow including grasses, Heuchera and a beautiful Hydrangea paniculata ‘Butterfly’ which instantly had the bees buzzing around it.
Compost bins were built at the back of the garden, an aspect we highly recommend to anyone who wants me to be more environmentally conscious with the approaches to dealing with garden waste. To finish the overall look we touched up the paint along the fences and we up-cycled the current patio furniture with a lick of black paint.

Bathwick Hill, Bath.
This was a large project we undertook for one of our existing gardening clients. We split the project in to 3 parts to make it more manageable and to fit in with the clients timeframe. The overall finish has come off fantastic and we are so please with how it turned out.
On the upper terrace the box hedges had to be removed as they were crippled with Cydalima perspectalis aka Box tree moth. We would never usually advocate for the removal of a natural border for a man-made one however in this case once we removed the box we realised how much more room for a more diverse planting scheme.
We then went about replacing and the landscape fabric, gravel and edging across the two formal terraces of garden. These clients are incredibly environmentally aware and wanted to re-use as much of the existing materials as possible. This was a challenge but we very much respect any clients willing to do more for the sustainability of our planet within their own bit of land. Instead of replacing all of the gravel with new shop bought gravel we took the time to clean the existing gravel of dirt, weeds and debris. This hugely reduced the amount of new materials we needed to buy.
On the lower terrace, the garden significantly slopes down so we built sleeper steps along one side of the pond and on the other side we fitted gravel stabilisation grids under the gravel to allow wheelbarrow access.
The biodiversity and abundance of life was a joy to work in. From the hundreds if not thousands of frogs and toads that were hatching across two ponds, to the huge numbers of bees and pollinators that fed and danced on the foliage around us.

North Road, Bath.
Before.
Gravel garden created for Stella and Roger.
This was created to be a low maintenance, shady oasis for Stella to enjoy as she wanted an area of low maintenance.
The roots and shade from the magnolia tree meant much of the grass was patchy and hard to manage.
